Welcome to the Recreation Facilities Association of BC!

The purpose of the Recreation Facilities Association of British Columbia (RFABC) is to promote general interest, education, safe operating standards, professionalism and support among recreation facility operators, Commission and Board members in the successful operations of arenas, auditoriums, community centres, swimming pools, stadiums, parks and other recreation facilities.

Make sure you check out our Job Board, sign up for one of our courses, or take in our conference.

If you have any questions, contact the RFABC office toll free at info@rfabc.com or 1-877-285-3421

F2F Connections

RFABC will be hosting series of focused and timely sessions on challenges and opportunities facing the recreation sector. Many of the discussions will revisit the wealth of information presented through the webinars and allow members to hear from other members. Under the name of our Association's Magazine, the Facility to Facility initiative will connect members through forums, webinars, and meetings.

Communicable Disease Prevention – The Why & How Webinar
WorkSafeBC and RFABC invite you to this important webinar discussion. As we transition from the COVID-19 Safety Plans to ongoing communicable disease prevention, this valuable session will clarify and build our understanding of what this means in our workplaces. As we prepare to move into the highly anticipated Step 4 of the BC Restart Plan on September 7th, the Panel will be speaking about and answering relevant questions on the why and how of Communicable Disease Prevention. Be sure to join us for what will no doubt be an informative discussion.
We are pleased to have an expert panel of:
  • Dr. Mark Lysyshyn, Deputy Chief Medical Health Officer, Vancouver Coastal Health
  • Lisa Houle, Manager of OHS Consultation & Education Services, WorkSafeBC
  • Kim Stubbs, OHS Consultant in OHS Consultation & Education Services, WorkSafeBC
  • Jamie Rennie, Moderator, Membership & Marketing Director, RFABC

Restart Step 3 - Guidelines for BC & Yukon Swimming Pools & Waterfronts

These Guidelines follow up on those released by the Lifesaving Society in June 2020 and several subsequent Updates which can be found on the Society website. They are based on BC’s Restart Plan, “A careful, four-step plan to bring us back together and focused on protecting people and safety getting life back to normal.”With very few changes related to Step 2 of the Restart Plan and with the short time between Steps 2 & 3, these guidelines are based on the best knowledge to date to guide aquatic management and staff for Step 3.
